A plate compactor and a jumping jack tamper have a tough job. Plate compactors are used for paver and soil compaction and compacting sand into place. Tampers have a smaller sized plate to easily get into tight areas and work perfect on asphalt. Reversible plate compactors are available for purchase as well.
