- Breed: Dalmation - Ages: Born April 2009 - Color: Spotted black on white - Weight: Large dog at maturity
We are so impressed with "Oz"! He is obedient and friendly and super intelligent! As with most Dalmations I know, he gets along great with horses and sheep and all manner of barnyard critters. Not to mention cats, dogs and children!!! In the photo, he is being held by my 8-year old daughter, so you can get an idea of size, and how well-behaved he is!!! Don't get me wrong--he does love a good romp and a devilish antic here and there. His personality will make you laugh, but as you can see (photo 2) he also has class and dignity! He actually posed for the camera on that one...we wont talk about the dozen others I got the last half of his body taking off somewhere. At the present time, Oz mostly hangs out in the yard and barn with a little dog buddy of his. So we havent been actively housetraining him, but whenever hes in the house with us hes never gone potty in here. Oz must go to a special home, with people who love Dalmations and know their passion for running and know they can do anything with lots of lavish positive reinforcement. Oz has had his puppy shots and full-spectrum worming. I would recommend a booster down the line and he is almost old enough for rabies shots now. Also, if he is to be a farm/outdoors dog; I don't have a problem with that, but he must have a WARM place to be for shelter, because Dalmations don't like being cold. Spending lots and lots of time with him goes without saying. Indoor-Outdoor is the best for Dalmations, as long as they are safe from traffic outside. OZ is a PUREBRED Dalmation but is not registered, nor does he have papers. If he did, I would be selling him for TWICE as much; because he is a beauty... AND a VERY VERY special Dalmation? He's got one brown eye and one blue eye!!! This is called "odd-eyed" in the pet world. I guess this is not terribly uncommon in Dalmations--but its the first Ive ever seen! Sometimes there is a link with blue eyes and deafness in Dalmations...but Ozs hearing is definitely intact, he has learned to come to his name, and to Sit by voice command. He also moves in a fluid motion so at least at the time of this writing his hips look very good. So there you have it...One healthy Dalmation Boy...$250!
