Izod is a 1 year old, albino, pure bred great dane. He is wonderful with children, cats and other dogs. I have had him since he was 8 weeks old, i purchased him from a breeder who thought that he was deaf but wasnt sure as he was very alert and aware of his surroundings. Once home we did find that he is in fact deaf but you would never guess it in the way he behaves and makes up for his lack of hearing. As a matter of fact I only found out because while asleep I could yell and whistle as loud as I want he just wont respond. We found this as a blessing in disguise as he doesnt bark when the door bell rings nor does he know when we have guests over. As a matter of fact I can count the number of times Izod has barked, mainly because he was excited and we were playing with him. He is normally very quiet.

He is crate trained, potty trained, leashed trained, and knows hand signals for commands. He knows sit, lay down, lay down on your side, stay, come, go play, drop it and other "words" we have made up over time. He enjoys playing with other dogs and people. He loves chasing laser pointers and playing fetch. He also loves to cuddle and be a part of the family. As a matter of fact he is very much the 'velcro" dog, every where you go he would love to be there, even if its a short car ride to pick up some take out, or a long car drive to visit friends/family, we have driven him to north carolina many times, and for us that is a 3 hour car drive! He does not get motion sickness nor does he whine to get out of the car, he actually likes to do whatever it is you are doing!

Being that he is deaf he cannot hear you when you call him, I have never really had to worry about him running off, he loves being around people so much he always sticks around, but that does not mean I would let him play by a busy intersection as accidents can happen. I always let him play in the fields around our home or at dog parks.

Izod has had all his shots and is current on his rabies vaccination. He has been neutered as I was never intending to bred him. If you require his AKC Registration I would be happy to get it from the breeder. If you would like more information on his genetics I can send you his parents family tree. The father, Shiner, is a champion sired import from germany, so Izod has the big frame and head, at only 1 year he weighs 150 lbs. The mother, Satchett, is an impressive female dane as she weighed in at 130 lbs the last time I saw her, I couldnt believe she was a female dane she was so beatifully stocky.

I am trying to find Izod a home because I simply do not feel close to him, he is not the kind of dane I am used to, he is clingy and wants affection more than I can handle. Its not that he is hyperactive its just that I want more of a lazy dog who would rather sleep than play. He is always eager to please and wants to play but I simply do not have the time or energy to give it to him. Seeing that he is still considered a puppy I know that he will not just calm down in a month or two. I want him to go to a home that is able to give him the attention he deserves.

I am only asking 600 dollars for him which is nothing compared to what I paid for him. If you live within reasonable driving distance I am willing to meet you halfway.
