ONE MEDIUM FURMINATOR DESHEDDING TOOL
I wanted this for my Large and Very Hairy German Shepherd,
and after I tried it for five minutes on him,
it proved to be invaluable and the best tool I have ever used
to remove his shedding hair.
We have been blessed with a very loving pet, and grooming him with
this tool is very comfortable for him...it is the least we can do
for the love he gives to us.
The picture shows a 5 minute combing
with the Furminator, and I thought all of his shedding was done
for awhile! Speaking from my own experience, this is the greatest!
Furminator Info:
-Quickly and easily eliminates undercoat and loose hair, and it glides
easily over the dog or cat—no struggle or pain for you or your pet.
-For long & short-haired dogs and cats.
-Stainless steel edge does not hurt the topcoat.
-Furminator can reduce shedding by 90%.
-Works more efficiently than any brush, comb, or rake.
-Minimizes airborne elements, which cause people to have an allergic reaction.
-Deshedding promotes natural oil production in your pet's coat.
-Reduces hairball production in cats.
-Explore the internet to easily find a natural, inexpensive and easy recipe
for making shampoo and conditioner at home. One of the
recipes uses glycerin, which is found at craft stores.
-Dogs not considered for use by the Furminator:
Water Spaniel Bedlington Terrier Bichon Frise Briard Chinese Crested Glen of
Imaal Terrier Havanese Irish Water Spaniel Japanese Chin Komondor Lhasa
Apso Löwchen Maltese Pekingese Poodle Portuguese Water Dog
Puli Shih Tzu Silky Terrier Soft Coated Wheaten Terrie
-Try improving your pet's diet to reduce shedding and nourish the skin:
add a raw egg yolk or a teaspoon of olive or flaxseed oil to your dog's food.
Omega fatty acid supplements are also available at most
pet supply stores and may help control shedding.
-Dogs and cats should be groomed daily to keep their coats shiny and healthy.
You can help your pet maintain a healthy coat by brushing him every day in opposite directions.
-Bathe your dog or cat every 2-3 months with a gentle, non-drying shampoo
(see above). As you shampoo your pet, you'll also remove any
loose hair, and your pet is left with a clean and shiny coat.
-Bathing too often, on the other hand, will dry out your pet's skin and coat and
cause even more shedding to occur because it removes essential oils in his or
her coat. Bathe in room-temperature water and never blow dry with high
heat. Do not let your dog or cat outside in colder temperatures when damp.
-Feed your pet a diet high in quality nutrients, protein and fatty acids.
Poor-quality dog and cat food has fillers that do not nourish the dog's skin,
and makes the skin dry and the hair follicles loose, which promotes shedding.
-Avoid stressful situations with your pet. Keep a calm environment for your
dog or cat, and they will shed less. Dogs and cats often shed when they
are frightened, have high amounts of anxiety or are feeling stressed.
-The FURminator deShedding Tool does not cut or damage the topcoat, b
ut rather pushes through the topcoat to remove the dead undercoat and loose hair.
-The FURminator deShedding Tool was nominated by Tufts University School of
Veterinarian Medicine’s newsletter as the number one product to reduce
hairballs in cats. Using the FURminator deShedding Tool on a regular basis
will help reduce shedding, thus reducing the amount of hair your cat ingests.
-The average consumer should not have to replace the tool's edge for the l
ifetime of the pet, and the protective edge cover should be placed on the edge
at all times when not in use. The small blue and purple cat tools do not have
replaceable edges. The medium, large and equine tools do have replaceable edges.
-Since the FURminator deShedding Tool only removes the coat that has already
shed from your dog or cat, the tool is fine to use in the winter. You will most
likely not have to use the tool as often as you would during heavy shedding months.
-The FURminator deShedding Tool is not to be used to remove mats or tangles.
The pet’s coat should be completely free of any mats or tangles before using the tool.
-The edge can be cleaned in a variety of ways. The easiest way to clean the edge
is with warm water and a toothbrush. Simply run the edge under the warm water
and use the toothbrush to get between the teeth on the edge. Dry the edge with a
paper towel and make sure the edge is completely dry before
putting on the plastic cover for storing for the next use.
-The FURminator shedding tool works like a large stripping comb. Its tiny metal teeth
are not sharpened so it doesn’t cut the coat, but pulls out huge amounts of dead hair.
-Substantial weight and a large, comfortable
ergonomic handle makes it easy to use.
-All pets are different, but on an average size dog or cat, if you use
the tool for 10-15 minutes once a week you can reduce shedding up to 90%.
Many blessings to you and your pet!
