The Effective Free Classifieds

My boyfriend found two obviously purebred standard poodles dumped alongside the road. (People that lived closeby said they had been there for three days and they hadn't fed them because they didn't want them to stay.) Before I could make it to his house to take a look at them the next afternoon the chocolate one died and the creme one wasn't far behind. I knew I had to get that matted mess of hair off of him first thing or he wouldn't have a chance. As I shaved i discovered that there was a lot more hair than dog. Skin and bones and...maggots. The poor thing had a hotspot the went from the top-center of his hips all the way down his tail and into his anus and was completly infested with maggots.

A month, some dogfood, a professional haircut, alot of antibiotics, and quite a bit of screw worm spray later.... Buddy, as we call him due to his lovely disposition, is doing great but now he needs a great home. My boyfriend loves him to death but his dad can't stand the idea of a poodle, of all things, running around his very masculine household so he gripes at me every chance he gets to get rid of him.

He was already neutered when I found him but the reason I can't seem to give him away to anyone I know is he is so BIG. He is an inch and a half taller than my biggest poodle. 1/2 inch from being bigger than the standard size. But he is FREE to a good home despite the fact that I've put around $200 into him to get him going again.
