The shelf is professionally made with greater weight capacity than the Honda

OEM and can be further customized. The shelf is covered with automotive

carpet.

This non OEM shelf will fold forward or backwards to accommodate tall, unusually

shaped items.

Installation is 'drop in and go' no tools or skills required. This shelf is less than

1/2 the cost of the Honda OEM. This is a must to keep your valuables out of sight

or just to add more versatility and privacy to your cargo area. These are NOT

premade.

Last month I purchased a new 2009 Honda CR-V and when I asked about the cargo shelf I was told that it was an extra on my model. I told dealer that I wanted the shelf. When they called me and told me it was in, my wife went and they installed what we thought was a shelf. When in reality it was one of those window shade type covers that attached to back of seats. When I asked dealer again about the shelf, I was informed that it only came on the EX and EX-L models. They also said if I wanted it for my LX version I would have to pay an additional amount as that they would have to modify the car to accomodate the shelf. My question to you is this: Are there indeed any modifications that would have to be made to my car to allow this shelf to be installed? Or was, as I suspect, my dealer just trying to get more money from me needlessly?
