JJ was a rescue and is ready for someone to love and train him. He was still nursing his Mom, at 2 years old, when we went to buy her. They were both in such bad shape, under fed and NO hoof care, so we bought both. In the 9 months we have owned him, his weight is up and he is on hay and pasture. He can now walk on a lead, will stand for the farrier, and loves people. A huge improvement over the scared horse we had to CATCH/TRAP and took 3 hrs to get in the trailer. We were hoping to have him gelded before finding him a home, his price is low so the new owner can geld him at the end of fly season(if they choose to). JJ is $200.
His mother, Bella, is a Paint and here on the premises. We were told JJ's father was a sorrel Tennessee Walker, but only saw one in the pasture where we purchased them(therefore can not confirm). His mother was also bred (SURPRISE) and now has a filly at her side. She is still gaining weight from when we purchased her. She was very under fed, was nursing him 2 years, while pregnant, and now nursing her new filly. We were told Bella was used extensively for parades and trail riding, but have only put her under the saddle a few times early in her pregnancy (before we knew) and she did very well. She comes when called and will stand for the farrier. She even did well last month for the farrier with her new foal at her side. Bella and her 2 month old filly are available for $800 together. We assume the same Tennessee Walker, who was JJ's father, bred Bella again and is the filly's father. We will answer any questions we can, we just do not have the horse experience to train him. We are not a rescue so we can't afford to keep 2+ horses (we don't ride) indefinitely, we just could not bear to leave them where they were. They are both ready to find HOMES where they will be ridden, taken care of, and loved. We will also sell Bella or her filly separate but after weaning. She is an EXCELLENT mother, as one can tell from her nursing a 2 year old when she was starving herself.
