I have been an independent network consultant since 1997. My clients over the last nine years have included a variety of businesses including: dental offices, electrical supply manufacturers, retail shops, locksmiths, restaurant groups, remodeling contractors, banquet and catering facilities, commercial display manufactures, etc.

EXPERTISE
- Installation, administration and trouble shooting of all Microsoft Operating Systems. Extensive experience with
DOS / Windows 95 / 98 / NT Workstation / NT Server / 2000 Professional / 2000 Server / XP Professional.
- Specification and construction of custom made machines to suit specific needs and or costs.
- Virus protection and removal.
- Firewall installation and configuration both hardware and software based.
- Wireless installation and configuration.
- Configuration and administration of all Local Area Networks particularly TCP/IP.
- Setup and configuration of Virtual Private Networks - VPN's.
- Installation and configuration of remote control access software such as pcAnywhere.
- Installation of any and all peripherals including: printers, scanners, cameras, wireless cards, usb devices,
uninterruptible power supplies, etc.
- Experience with all Microsoft Office Products including: Word, Excel, Outlook, Outlook Express, Access, etc.
- Experience with the following programs: ACCPAC Accounting Software, Palm Software, ACT!, QuickBooks,
Quicken, Janus Display Software, Sage Computing Software, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Adobe Photoshop,
Norton Products, Mcafee Products, Lavasoft's Ad-Aware, Partition Magic, Ghost, etc.
- Deployment and maintenance of a variety of proprietary software packages designed for specific industries.
For example: MOGO for dental offices, ESC for locksmiths, MAS90 for manufacturing, etc. While I am not an
expert at the daily use of these programs, I can install, configure and troubleshoot them.
- Disaster recovery including: password recovery, lost files, deleted files, hardware failures.
- Installation, configuration and testing of backup and recovery procedures, including: daily, monthly, and off-site.
This last point is one of the most important in business today. When it comes to virus infections or disaster recovery, it is no longer a question of if, but, when. I am proud of the fact that since I have been a consultant, I have not had a single client suffer a non-recoverable data loss. That's nine years running.
