| “Homeschool for Exceptionalities is currently in the prenatal stage with an anticipated birth date of August 2009. The concept of a homeschool environment for students with exceptionalities was conceived when parents; dissatisfied by the public system, frustrated and in search of the ideal learning environment for their student approached me to assist them in providing such an ideal environment”. Special needs and visually impaired children may require a completely individualized curriculum consisting primarily of developmental rather than academic goals. Instruction provided in the homeschool setting can offer such individualized curriculum. Children who have disabilities need programming appropriate to children of their cognitive or physical ability along with the specialized expertise of an instructor trained to assist with materials and ways of presenting items and concepts. At Homeschool for Exception alities it is our goal to address the developmental and academic challenges brought by each student through one-on-one and group instruction using; textbooks, unit studies, teachable moments, prepared curriculums, technology, manipulatives, and integrated programs. All subjects are offered K-8 with high school schedules tailored to student’s personal educational path.
Purpose: Homeschool for Exceptionalities was born out of the need to provide the parents of special needs students with an alternative learning environment in which to address the developmental and academic challenges brought by each student through one-on-one and group instruction using; textbooks, unit studies, teachable moments, prepared curriculums, technology, manipulatives, and integrated programs for the benefit of each student to experience educational success. The driving force behind our mission is the courageous children and their families.
Mission: The mission of Homeschool for Exceptionalities is to assist parents in providing an alternative learning environment for their student to experience educational success which, in turn, will contribute to a well educated, productive, socially responsible and independent student.
