| Hello,
I want to first thank you for your time, and introduce myself. My name, is William Bentley. And I am in need of some help.
Over a month ago, I was laid off from my supervisor job in security services. I was making 10 dollars an hour, in an economy, where a minimum wage job is harder to find than good gas prices. I moved into my own apartment, I bought a "new" used car on a loan, and I was going to school at the local community college.
My life was great, until I was laid off. Now I am at the point where there is nothing but ramen noodles (and not many of those left either) in my cupboard, I am not sure where my next rent payment is coming from, and I have for the first time in my life filled out the form for food-stamps. I'm worried about losing my place to live, and my car... and I can't go to the community college any more, because I ran out of gas money to get to campus before my unemployment checks were finally cleared.
Now, I have enough unemployment approved to last me until March, 2010. This will pay the bare minimum, gas, utilities, rent, car payments, car insurance with roughly 20 bucks a month left over for grocery costs.
I have found a local school, that will allow me to get a certificate to become a Medical Assistant, by January 2010. And with my own credit, negotiations, and federal loans... I have qualified for 11,000 dollars worth of college financial assistance. The only problem, is that the price of tuition, books, parking and certification tests is a total of 14,150 dollars.
My parents aren't willing to co-sign, and I am 23 years old, so the government says that even though I'm trying to survive on my own, and cannot get assistance from them... their income still matters in forms of financial aid. So, I am out of options... except this one.
I am asking for assistance from you, anybody who is willing. 1 Dollar would help, 3150 dollars would be amazing.
The only catch, is that I need the money by March 20th, 2009 in order to start school this month and graduate and get placed in time to be making money before my unemployment runs out.
The trade school has an 87% placement status within the local community of graduated students. These students that fall into the 87% mark, are placed within 2 weeks of graduation, and are all making over 15$/hour. And those who fall into the remaining 13%, have been on average been placed within a month to a similar position.
I hate accepting hand-outs, and I do not want to be the guy who sits on food-stamps and unemployment without doing anything with his life.
Help me, sponsor me and I can become a boon to society, instead of a burden.
If you decide do this: You can request to receive weekly reports on my grades, you will become aware of where I live and what steps I am taking to become employed even while still in school.
Before you make the decision: You will be given information on the school, so you can research it to be entirely sure of your investment in me, and when I graduate I will make sure you receive a plaque commending your contribution and generosity.
Thank you,
William Bentley. WTBentley (Grand Rapids, MI) 616-644-2187
