If you see a breeder advertising Official Shorkie Puppies and they are not registered with the The Shorkie Club Of America it is stoen contnet from our website. Shorkie Club Of America is Free and Open to all breeders.
Its funny the ones that are trying to discredit Shorkie Club Of America are the ones that offer no genetic testing and say that F1 shorkies are healthier ! They tell you the hybrid vigor theory exists to make you think mixed breeds are healthier but we have shown you by facts from a Canine genealogist that it does not.
They claim that by me telling you Shorkies are at risk for health issues it is a Scare tactic I am using. Why would I want to scare my potential puppy parents that are looking to adopt a Shorkie from us.
How is it a scare tactic??? I think the difference here is I want puppy parents to know the truth. Wouldn't you as a puppy parent want to know the whole truth about Shorkies. Good and Bad. Why wont they tell you the health problems shorkies face. Or have they not been breeding shorkies long enough to know? Or do they not want to tell you. Or is they believe that they have not had any health problems this far so its not a problem. But if they haven't been breeding Shorkies for that long how do they know what problems exists?
Did you know that a Shorkie can inherit ALL the bad genetics from each side. So instead of as in a purebred it may inherit just the issues known its breed that if a Shorkie is not bred correctly it can be a genetic nightmare??
