In order to prepare the estimate, I prefer to discuss the project with you to find out if you have any concerns with the project. I spend a significant amount of time making sure your painting project is properly prepared before application of the paint.

On exterior projects, this includes scraping and sanding any peeling paint areas; priming of any exposed wood areas; caulking of all cracks/gaps that can cause premature paint failure; and application of two coats of paint that is sprayed and backbrushed to work it into textured siding. In addition, my bid also includes reconditioning of any vinyl or aluminum clad windows and outside window washing to complement the new paint job when it is completed. If your home is being re-painted, your home will also be carefully pressure washed to remove any mildew and dirt without damaging the siding or forcing water into the walls.

On interior projects, surfaces are washed to remove accumulated dust/dirt; light scraping/sanding of walls; caulking any gaps between trim and walls; caulking of any painted trim to provide for nice clean "cut" lines between trim and walls. I also utilize a process that finds minor imperfections in wall surfaces and these are corrected prior to painting. I also take great care to remove any dust accumulation from the paint project to provide you with the best possible finish on your interior walls. Finally, two coats of top quality Sherwin Williams paint is roller applied in your choice of colors. Dark colors are no problem if that is your desire.

There are many painters out there that will do a painting job for much less, however, your written estimate will spell out exactly the work that I will be doing for you. There will not be any hidden charges. I do not require any money in advance of the project and you do not pay me until you are completely satisfied with the job. All of this is spelled out for you in my written estimate.
