| Almost Home Ohio of Ashland Ohio is proud to present 4 adorable tabby kittens.
This cat was taken in as a stray/dump when we realized she was pregnant. We are very pro-spay/neuter, and avoiding any contributing to the pet overpopulation crisis. However the day Faith came knockin at my door, we knew we couldn't allow her to give birth outside, where her kittens would surely die, while she suffered with earmites, a URI, and worms.
After a vet visit, lots of medications for her ailments, and a checkup to make sure her kittens were ok, she came home to stay with us during her pregnancy and the raising of her kittens.
Two days ago, Faith gave birth two 4 leap year babies!
They will be available when they are around 8 weeks old. No money will come to me. Instead, their adopters will pay the vet directly to have them spay/neutered before leaving my home.
Almost Home also has one adorable guinea pig that is currently seeking a home. He was saved from being tossed outside in this cold weather when his owners didn't want him anymore. He's an adorable sweet little guy, who is a little skittish from lack of handling. Definitely didn't deserve to freeze to death in the snow.
His adoption fee is $20.
Almost Home is not a "rescue", exactly. I am so "small time" that I do not qualify for true non-profit status. I don't consider every animal that needs rehomed to be a "rescued" animal. Some of them are not in dire situations, and I don't like the stereotype (power mongers, or animal hoarders) that often goes with the word "rescue". However I am a family woman who can't turn her back on an animal in need. I take in unwanteds, dumped, abused, neglected, and sickly, as long as I have the available space, time, and financial means to do what I have to, in order to get them healthy, happy, and moved on to forever homes. My area of expertice is birds, big and small. As an ex-breeder, I have bird experience in all areas. From behavior to general health, to handfeeding and proper stimulation and daily care. I've taken on birds from the sweetest of cockatiels to the unpredictable, attitude-full amazon.
I'm running on full with cats at the moment, but do have room for one or two birds, if they are in need. Behavior issues not a problem. I also currently have room for several lizards. Experience in bearded dragons and geckos.
