| The Children’s Council of Jacksonville First United Methodist Church is hosting a Spring/Summer Children’s Consignment Sale April 4th & 5th, 2008. The Spring 2008 Children’s Market Sale features gently worn spring/summer children’s, teen, and maternity clothing; toys; books; baby equipment; and many other family-friendly items.

The event will begin with private preview sales on Thursday, April 3rd. Volunteers and consignors are invited to shop earliest. Area teachers are invited to shop beginning at 4 pm. while first-time parents can register for the New & Expecting Parents Sale at www.jaxfumckids.org. To be admitted to the sale, teachers must show their school ID card at the door.
The public sale will be Friday from 8 am until 6 pm. Many items will be reduced 50% during Saturday’s public sale, which begins at 8 am and ends at Noon. From 3 pm until 4 pm on Saturday, the doors will open once more for a $5 Pack-a-Sack Sale, a Children’s Market tradition where shoppers can select larger items for 75% off the original consignor price on larger items and fill bags with all the items they can hold for only $5.00 a bag.
Proceeds from the sale will be used by the church’s children’s ministry to fund scholarships, children’s activities, mission trips, and community outreach programs. Items donated after the sale will be distributed to Jacksonville Christian Outreach Center, Save-a-Life, 2nd Chance, the Community Enabler Program, and Center of Hope.
The goal of the Children’s Market sale is to helping others, especially parents, by either providing much needed items and clothing for their children at bargain prices, or by providing a place to sell items and clothing no longer needed. It is our desire that this sale be a ministry to the communities of Calhoun, Etowah, Cherokee, and Cleburne Counties.
